The Museum of Computing is launching a new exhibition on 13th January. High Score will feature over 70 classic electronic games from the 1970s and 1980s, "featuring the very first TV video game, the Magnavox Odyssey 1, favourite Nintendo Game & Watches; battery-operated arcade and educational games such as 'Speak & Spell'; bat & ball 'pong' type TV games; popular video consoles such as the Atari 2600 and Intellivision and a host of unusual electronic games." It's not directly Acorn related, but you might be interested anyway. The museum publishes a quarterly magazine and, although we didn't notice at the time, last summer's issue features an interview with the founder of Superior Software, Richard Hanson, who reveals his favourite game was Repton 3.
Even when his BBC fails Richard will still be able to feed his Repton habit: Superior Software have rewritten their classic Beeb games Repton, Galaforce and Ravenskull for Windows and are offering a 15% discount on all prices until 18th January. It seems like our favourite Mr Lizard is crawling out of more computer screens than ever before - RISC OS, Windows, and mobile.
